Written by admin on May 24, 2009 – 10:12 pm -

Where to begin? First, before you spend all that money on garden gloves and funky hats, it's important to realize that although gardening is one of the biggest pastimes amongst the population, it is more than just a hobby - it is a passion. Most hobbies are for relaxation, requiring minimal effort, but this is a hobby that can require a lot of investment - not only of time and money, but labor. How to Choose Lawn Mowers

Written by admin on May 19, 2009 – 5:30 am -

Regular mowing is as vital to a healthy lawn as watering, fertilizing, and weeding. A bumper crop of easier-starting mowers and wider-cutting tractors is trimming some of the work from this weekly ritual. Pressure washers use a gas engine or electric motor, pump, and concentrating nozzle to boost water pressure from your garden hose as much as 60 times. That kind of power blasts away deck mildew, driveway stains, and other grunge a hose couldn't touch. Lower prices and less upkeep are why 60 percent of buyers choose washers with an electric motor. But gas models have roughly twice the cleaning power-a key reason you'll see fewer plug-ins at the big-box... more

According to Consumer Reports, Toro's $70 Ultra Blower Vac was best among handhelds and, at 7.5 pounds. Is easy to handle. The best handheld electric blowers have long beaten their gasoline-fueled competitors with comparable power and less weight and noise. This year's electrics are an even better value. Three new corded electric blower-vacs outperformed our highest-scoring handheld gas model at about half the price.
